There are many benefits of training with the Trial By Fire Youth Track & Field Club’s Pre-Season Strength and Conditioning Program?

Q: Who should participate?
Student-athletes that are 13 years & older and who are serious about physical development and interested in competing in indoor meets over the winter months.
Q: What are the Pre-Season Strength and Conditioning activities?
Our program offers alternative strength and conditioning training workouts that are utilized in the weight room and on the track?

Q: When, how often, and where are the strength and conditioning sessions held?
- Tuesday and Thursday – 6:15pm to 7:45pm
- Saturday – 9:00am to 10:30 am

Q: What equipment/apparel is needed?
- Running shoes
- Running spikes
- Practice shirt, shorts, and sweats (no jeans)
- Team T-Shirt
- Competition Uniform
Competition uniforms are the same uniforms used during the spring and summer season and by the team in the past. If a student-athlete does not own a team uniform, athletes are permitted to purchase uniforms of preference during the strength and conditioning season, however uniforms are required to cover the midriff and keeps with the team colors, preferably all black with accents of lime-green, orange, and white.
Team t-shirts, warmer-up pants and a uniform will be required for every team member that competes. Student-athletes are strongly urged to have two different types of shoes. The first is a pair of running shoes that are still have a fair amount of tread on them. The second is a pair of “spikes”. Our recommendation for purchasing these shoes is via mail through “East Bay Sports” (www.eastbay.com), or “First to the Finish” (www.fttf.com), or "New Balance Shoes (www.shopnewbalance.com).
Q: What are the expectations?
By choosing to train as "Trailblazer", student-athletes have chosen to be different from everyone else. Therefore, there are different expectations for you. You are expected to study, eat healthier, sleep, and train in a manner that shows characteristics of a conqueror. Approach all aspects of your life with the highest level of passion, determination, and with purpose.
Q: What is the training schedule?
Training Sessions
- Tuesday and Thursday - 6:15pm to 8:00pm - Saturday - 9:00am to 11:00am
During the winter season, training sessions are held in various indoor and outdoor facilities.
Q: What is the fee?
There is no registration fee to participate in the strength and conditioning sessions, however there are fees associated with facility usage, developmental meets, and out-of-town travel:
- Weight Room: $1.50 per visit
- Developmental Meets: Range between $15 - $40 per meet
